The infants continued to arrive for almost seven hours.
Jessie, Eleanor Usher’s Rottweiler, was pregnant, and they were instructed to expect six to eight puppies. But Mother Nature had other plans, and everyone was in for a surprise when the puppies arrived.
Jessie gave birth three days before her due date. It was late at night, and the puppies just kept coming! What was the final tally? When all was said and done, there were a total of 15 puppies! While not a world record, it is the second largest litter in UK history (the largest being 18!).
The family was astonished but overjoyed after seven hours of labor and what seemed like an infinite number of puppies. And Jessie is the best mother in the world! She’s been able to feed them all on her own and give each pup the attention it need.
