For a stray dog to cool down on a hot summer day, a store opens its doors

For stray animals, life can be very difficult. In addition to having to fetch their own food and water, they have nowhere to go because they have no house or shelter. Hence, they are also entirely exposed to all kinds of weather.

There are several reports of dogs enduring extreme cold and the kind establishments that opened their doors to keep them warm. However, dogs are also susceptible to intense heat, so one day, a business decided it was the correct thing to do to invite a stray dog inside to cool down.

On a hot 104°F day in Mexico, a stray dog from the area paid a visit to the local market where he had been appearing for several days.

According to The Dodo, the store’s clerk said, “He has been here the past [few] days. We suspect he was left behind by his owner. He came to us for help. We could only provide him with food, water and some toys from the store that we paid with our money.”

But on this steamy day, they made the decision to take it a step further and let the dog inside to cool off. The dog clearly appeared to appreciate this break from the oppressive heat; in fact, he was so at ease that he simply curled up for a nap in one of the aisles.

“We let him inside because the temperature outside is really hell-like,” the clerk stated. “We feel bad for him, but he looks happier around the store.”

Adolfo Pazzi Ahumada, a customer who was at the market to buy some milk, decided to buy the dog a treat because he was really touched by the store clerks’ generosity.

Adolfo admitted to The Dodo that he felt awful for the dog’s ordeal.

“I felt bad for what the dog has passed through,” Adolfo told The Dodo. “But he is now receiving the love he deserves.”

Thank you to this business for allowing this dog to enter. We are certain that this modest gesture of kindness meant everything to this stray.
