Brave dog saves owner from a mountain lion attack

We all know that dogs are people’s best friends, and there’s no doubt that they’ll put their lives on the line to protect their owners. This story is a great example of that.

When Erin Wilson and her dog Eva went for a walk in remote Northern California, a mountain lion attacked the woman.

The woman was walking peacefully when a lion attacked her and grabbed her.

“I’m just walking down the slope and the dog had run ahead of me. And I turn around and there’s this cat just growling at me and it reaches up and it swipes at me,” she said. “At first, I was just like, Wait, what? And I think I screamed and I shouted for Eva and she came running.”

Eva fought the lion when he saw that his owner was in danger. After hitting the lion, Eva was able to get it to leave.

Eva had two skull fractures, a punctured sinus cavity and severe damage to her left eye from the attack.

“The majority of California is mountain lion habitat. But it’s really, really uncommon for this to happen. I’ve seen just a handful over the years, over my career of 25 years,” he said. “We don’t recommend that people change their plans to go out and recreate in the wild.”

The brave dog got hurt when the lion attacked him. Erin was able to help her dog and scare the lion away with stones, which was a relief. Then, she called for help. Finally, someone heard her, and they took Eva to the nearest hospital.
